Free Servant Leadership Event: Create a “Winning” Culture

Have you joined us for our quarterly Servant Leaders of Wisconsin (S.L.O.W.) events yet? Each quarter we have a speaker who shares their leadership journey. Our goal with our quarterly S.L.O.W. meeting is to have you leave feeling inspired, informed and equipped to help you raise the principles of Servant Leadership in your own life. We hope you can join us!
Our upcoming S.L.O.W. event is scheduled for Thursday, February 25th at 3 p.m. at The Marq (located just between Green Bay and Appleton). Our speaker this quarter is Steve Jones. Steve is a Leadership Educator and Head Football Coach at Kimberly High School – home of The Papermakers! Steve’s speaking topic is “Developing Leaders That Create a “Winning” Culture”. Steve and the Kimberly Football team know a bit about winning, having earned the following titles:
2014 and 2015 Division I State Champions
2007, 2008, and 2013 Division II State Champions
2009 Division II State Runner-Up

Just a group of individuals and attendees that believe in the concept of Servant Leadership. Robert K. Greenleaf defines servant leadership as:
“The servant-leader is servant first… It begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first. Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead. That person is sharply different from one who is leader first, perhaps because of the need to assuage an unusual power drive or to acquire material possessions.”
Greenleaf said that “the servant-leader is servant first.” By that he meant that that the desire to serve, the “servant’s heart,” is a fundamental characteristic of a servant-leader. It is not about being servile, it is about wanting to help others. It is about identifying and meeting the legitimate needs of colleagues, customers, and communities.
