Looks can be deceiving!

Do you judge a book by it’s cover? Of course you do, we all do. It’s why marketing firms like mine stay in business. We know that you will judge the quality of something by how it looks and feels. Take a look at these bathrooms. What is the quality of a portable toilet versus a deluxe bathroom?

FullSizeRender(1)Here it appears that on this construction site are two porta potties. Would you believe it if I told you these bathrooms were rated #1 cleanest in America a few years back? That’s because these bathrooms are located not in a construction zone, but in the largest grocery store in the world, Jungle Jim’s in Cincinnati, OH.

Once you penetrate the portable bathroom threshold, it opens up into a very spacious deluxe bathroom. People are like books. We judge what we see. I’ve learned to look past that, but I admit, I needed help.

Everyone has unique talents buried inside and once discovered, their world opens up into making amazing contributions. Isn’t that our job as parents or leaders of groups? It’s our job to see the potential in someone and help them unleash it to the world.

Action Plan: Look deeper for a person’s potential. Often only outsiders can see it!

Sometimes, all it takes is a little inspiration.

Understanding where others are coming from is critical in communicating and working toward a common cause.
