Why Don’t You Take a Dip in the Marshmallow River?

This past weekend my three girls, ages 16, 14 and 12, each brought a friend to our cabin. I love it when they bring friends because it changes the dynamic and allows for new and unusual campfire games to be introduced. Like most friend weekends, marshmallows are a hard necessity. Every time, it begins with a sweet treat beautifully roasted and then ends with a dip in the marshmallow river!
They start burning them, using their stick like a torch. They smear the smoldering treat on logs; it gets on the sides of the pit, gets caught on chairs and clothing and simply becomes a bit messy. However, it’s a blast every time and completely worth it. Just like getting after your company culture.
When companies get after their culture it can get a little sticky. Culture management involves defining the culture, why the company exists, what’s most important right now and deciding how people should behave. It gets sticky because it’s so ambiguous for everyone.
